This story is shocking to our community. The New Brunswick police are investigating after “Meliva” the Rottweiler was found bleeding to death after being shot. A message on Facebook prompted local animal rescuer, Nicole Thebeau to check in on a dog found in a bush.
Nicole found that the dog had been shot, and brought it to us at Riverview Animal Hospital. Meliva was treated by Dr. Arsenault for extreme blood loss but her life was really saved by the out pour of community support. Meliva received a blood transfusion from a wonderful community member.
