Registered Veterinary Technician
I graduated from Oulton College in June 2015. It took me a very long time to finally find what I wanted to do as a career. I tried a lot of different things, which ended up guiding me towards the veterinary field. When I got my very own dog (a Pug named Larry), that's when I knew I wanted to work with animals. I joined the clinic last September (2015), not long after passing my registration exam. Riverview was the first clinic I had brought my animals to when we moved to Moncton. I was really impressed with the doctors and the level of professionalism of all the staff, and I knew I wanted to be a part of the team. Being still fairly new to the industry, there are still a lot of topics out there for me to explore. I do enjoy learning about critical care, behaviours, and anything to do with laboratory workup (i.e. blood, urine, etc.). My first pet was a stray kitten that we named Coquette. She was a beautiful tortoiseshell, as sweet as can be. I love my job because, above all, patient care is really important to me. I take care of all the patients as if they were my own, and I feel like it's very important to make them at ease and keep them comfortable for the duration of their stay. My favourite thing about the clinic is everyone is working towards the same goal, as a team. We support each other, encourage each other, and there's lots of opportunity for growth. Fun fact about myself is I enjoy doing my nails way too much!

Rebecca Schofield Community Event

Riverview Animal Hospital helped last week to build the Rebecca Schofield All World Super Play Park. It was a huge community event with over 2, 583 volunteers that built a giant accessible playground for all of Greater Moncton's Children to enjoy. Rebecca Schofield is Riverview New Brunswick's international celebrity. In 2016, at 16 years old Rebecca became ill, what was thought to be the flu turn into a diagnosis of Brain Cancer. In the short time before her death in 2018, Rebecca started a global movement, by inspiring people around the world to simply be kind to one another. Her hashtag #beccatoldmeto is to this day still seen all over the world as people perform random acts of kindness. Her legacy lives on making the world a better place one act of kindness at a time. We were very proud to be able to do our small part in helping to build the playground. We know that Becca's legacy will carry on for years to come, and I know the team at RAH will think of her every time we see the smiles of children as they play on their new beautiful playground.
