Karen Kerr

Registered Veterinary Technician, Team Lead

Growing up on an Ontario farm, animals have been an integral part of my life and in 2007, I earned my Animal Science Degree from the Ontario Agriculture College at the University of Guelph.

While working in animal care, I discovered my passion for assisting veterinarians, leading me to pursue a career as a veterinary technician. I completed the Veterinary Technician program at Oulton College in Moncton, New Brunswick, graduating in June 2016. During my studies, I joined the Riverview Animal Health Centre in 2014 as a part-time animal care assistant, transitioning to a full-time technician role after graduation.

My particular interest lies in theriogenology. The joy of helping people care for their pets and witnessing those happy tails wagging is why I love my job.

A fun fact about me: I worked as a professional zookeeper for seven years before becoming a technician.
