Kelsey Hewgill

Registered Veterinarian Technician
Animals have always been a huge part of my life! I grew up with both of my parents being in the veterinary industry, my dad is a veterinarian and my mom is a veterinary technician. Growing up, I spent as much time as I could helping out in the clinic, watching and learning as much as possible. Seeing how much both my parents enjoyed their jobs, I was inspired to follow in their footsteps and start my own journey in veterinary medicine as a technician. I graduated from the 2-year Veterinary Technician course at Seneca College in 2016 and jumped right back into working to start using all my newly learned skills. Anesthesia is something that interests me, and I want to make sure I'm always learning the best practices. Pet owners trust us with the care of their beloved pets and I want to be able to treat each pet as if they were my own. I love all aspects of my job! I enjoy the hands-on experience that comes with dentistry. Seeing pets go home with beautiful white smiles is so satisfying! I also enjoy talking with pet owners about all the ins and outs of pet care. Owning pets can come with a lot of questions and I love being able to help people make informed decisions about their pet's health. I am a huge horse lover! I have had a few horses over my long equestrian career but right now I have a beautiful Thoroughbred gelding who is my best friend and the most wonderful teammate. Over the summer months we compete in horse shows and sometimes when the weekends are too hot we go for a nice cool swim! We always had multiple pets growing up but the first pet that was actually mine was a beautiful long-haired orange tabby cat named Keyara. She was a Christmas present from my parents. Now, my newest little baby is a long-haired orange and white kitten named, Barney.

We will no longer have suggested appointment times for urgent care situations

  • Please continue to call ahead to let us know that your pet is having an emergency and that you are on your way.
  • For our emergency hospital-evenings and weekends will be walk in only. Your pet will be triaged by a Veterinary technician, who will determine the level of care that is needed for your pet. Critical patients will be our top priority, and will be seen first.
  • This will increase wait times for patients that are triaged as non-urgent.
  • Thank you in advance for your understanding.
