Mandy Jones

Veterinary Assistant

I love animals and always have. When I traveled to India for a few months a few years ago (initially for yoga), I fell in love with the street dogs and started taking care of them. After that initial trip, I returned to India specifically to help care for the sick and injured street dogs and my life was never the same. I made the decision that the rest of my life would be devoted to taking care of dogs and other animals that were sick, injured or just in need of some TLC.

I am currently taking the Veterinary Technician program and am loving it. It is my calling for sure! I just joined Riverview Animal Hospital (September 2020) and I feel extremely excited to be part of such an incredible team. The area of veterinary medicine that interests me the most is emergency medicine and surgery. I have had 7 dogs in total, and my first was a lab/shepherd/collie mix named Buddy. What I love about my job is the opportunity to learn so much about the different aspects of veterinary medicine. I love the supportive environment at Riverview. This isn't a job, it's truly a passion. The clinic's staff have been so welcoming and helpful, and the hospital itself has cutting edge technology! I feel very lucky to work at Riverview.

A fun fact about me is that I know how to fly a small plane.
