Veterinary Assistant
What inspired me to go into the veterinary industry, was the love I have for animals and helping to care for them. Since I was little, it has been my dream to work in the veterinary field. I graduated from Oulton College July 2017 and joined the Riverview Animal Hospital in August 2017. While I was doing my on-the-job training, I was learning lots of new skills, information, and felt that the team made me feel right at home; this is the main reason I decided to join the Riverview team. My first pet was a dog and her name was Sandy, I adopted her from the Miramichi SPCA. What I love most about my job is being able to help animals and seeing them go home happy and well. I love when I get to see the smiles on owners' face's when they get their pet back, it's the best feeling in the world. My favourite thing about the clinic is everything, I love being here learning and growing to become the best veterinary assistant I can be. I have two dogs and two cats and I'm also a dog groomer.

Rebecca Schofield Community Event

Riverview Animal Hospital helped last week to build the Rebecca Schofield All World Super Play Park. It was a huge community event with over 2, 583 volunteers that built a giant accessible playground for all of Greater Moncton's Children to enjoy. Rebecca Schofield is Riverview New Brunswick's international celebrity. In 2016, at 16 years old Rebecca became ill, what was thought to be the flu turn into a diagnosis of Brain Cancer. In the short time before her death in 2018, Rebecca started a global movement, by inspiring people around the world to simply be kind to one another. Her hashtag #beccatoldmeto is to this day still seen all over the world as people perform random acts of kindness. Her legacy lives on making the world a better place one act of kindness at a time. We were very proud to be able to do our small part in helping to build the playground. We know that Becca's legacy will carry on for years to come, and I know the team at RAH will think of her every time we see the smiles of children as they play on their new beautiful playground.
