I have always had a soft spot for all animals. When I was young my aunt and I would take stray, hurt animals and nurse them back to health. My first memory of doing this with my aunt was on my own kitten. He had gotten shut in the door and wasn’t able to walk. We spent many hours feeding and giving the kitten physical therapy. Within a few weeks the kitten was back to his old self, running and playing with his other litter mates! I truly believe that is the moment I knew that I wanted to work in the Veterinary field. Since that day I have helped my aunt with an array of animals from cats, dogs, horses, goats, rodents and wildlife.
During my graduating year of high school, I applied for the Veterinary Technician program at Oulton College. I was fortunate enough to get 1 out of the 4 seats available, as it is a highly competitive program. I graduated in 2019 and become an official RVT in September of 2020 after passing my registration exam.
