Cat Euthanasia

At Riverview Animal Hospital, we have pets too and know how hard it is to say goodbye. We ensure that we are there for you through every step of your pet’s journey.

When should I consider euthanasia?

Pet euthanasia is an honourable and kind last decision that we can make for our beloved pets in their final time of need. We know it is a tough decision to make; our team is here for you to walk you through and help you every step of the way. Knowing when the right time to make this decision is never easy. Our team often say you will know in your heart when the right time is, as the quality of your pet’s life is taken into consideration. Talking with your veterinarian can help in your time of need. If you feel like it may be the right time for your cat, you can call us at 506-387-4015, and we can get you an appointment as soon as possible to talk to the doctor.

What happens during euthanasia?

Each family takes comfort in our family room during this difficult time. We ensure that your pet is treated with the dignity that they deserve. The procedure does not take a lot of time and is very peaceful.

Can you stay with your cat during euthanasia?

Absolutely, we encourage you to stay with your beloved pet during this difficult time. It is a very sad time, and although your pet may be sick, they will take comfort knowing their mom or dad is there with them in their last moments.

What is the cost of euthanasia?

The cost of the procedure is discussed once the client has made the decision. We offer a cremation service where you can choose if you would like your pet’s cremains returned to you. Please don’t hesitate to contact the hospital at 506-387-4015.
