Kitten Vaccinations

At Riverview Animal Hospital, our kitten vaccine program begins when your kitten is 8-weeks-old. At that time they will come in for a complete physical exam, along with their first series of vaccines. We will continue with your kitten’s journey by doing additional vaccines and health exams at 12 weeks of age and 16 weeks of age. Then your kitten is up to date for 1 year. The information that you will receive from our team during your kitten’s visits will ensure you and your kitten have an excellent start to a wonderful healthy life together.

When do kittens get their first shots?

Our kitten vaccine program begins at 8-weeks-old, and continues at 12 weeks with the final kitten vaccine visit at 16-weeks-old.

Does my kitten need only core vaccines?

Vaccines are the safest way to prevent disease. Although just like everything we do in life, there is always a small risk, however, our veterinarians feel that the rewards definitely outweigh the risks of the diseases that they prevent.

Rebecca Schofield Community Event

Riverview Animal Hospital helped last week to build the Rebecca Schofield All World Super Play Park. It was a huge community event with over 2, 583 volunteers that built a giant accessible playground for all of Greater Moncton's Children to enjoy. Rebecca Schofield is Riverview New Brunswick's international celebrity. In 2016, at 16 years old Rebecca became ill, what was thought to be the flu turn into a diagnosis of Brain Cancer. In the short time before her death in 2018, Rebecca started a global movement, by inspiring people around the world to simply be kind to one another. Her hashtag #beccatoldmeto is to this day still seen all over the world as people perform random acts of kindness. Her legacy lives on making the world a better place one act of kindness at a time. We were very proud to be able to do our small part in helping to build the playground. We know that Becca's legacy will carry on for years to come, and I know the team at RAH will think of her every time we see the smiles of children as they play on their new beautiful playground.
